DearTrinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 90:12 So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. Where has this summer gone? In 6 short weeks Trinity Baptist School will be back in session. And many things are on the calendar in the near future. The shrinking of my summer “to do” list has slowed to a crawl. Moses teaches us a proper perspective on time in Psalm 90. He pairs acquiring wisdom with proper management of opportunities in Psalm 90:12. The wise understand the shortness of time to do what is good and right. What ought you do for the glory of God today?
We have 2 more nights of VBS. I heard Beth say there were 47 people in the building on Sunday night. A couple of factors beyond our control have limited our attendance some, but our staff is doing a great job and the young people are enjoying the week. Pray that God’s Word might speak to believers and unbelievers, students and teachers through their walk through the Armor of God. Put next year’s VBS on your calendar now – July 17-20, 2022.
Remember, there are no Wednesday Bible evening studies this week.
The Teens have an activity at the church Saturday at 6:00 p.m. called “Underground Church.” It sounds a little spooky to me. If you have any questions about whether you should take out additional liability insurance or anything else about this activity, contact PC.
Missionary Glen Fergusen will be teaching in adult Sunday School this week. He is a veteran aviation missionary with JAARS who is in town for EAA. I am looking forward to learning from him about this important tool in missionary work. I have attached his bio. We will be taking a second offering during the morning service for him. Next Sunday, our missionary – Lloyd Peace, who is also here for EAA, will be in my Sunday School class.
Sunday, I am beginning a walk through the book of Ephesians. It hardly seems possible, but it has been 20 years since I last worked through this book on Sunday mornings. Sunday is Church Dinner Day! My devotions after lunch will be from 2 Samuel 15. We will consider who David’s real friends were when he had to flee from Absalom.
Pray for one another. Pray for healing for Kathy. Pray for comfort for those who are hurting. Pray for our country. Pray for our last two days of VBS. Pray for Kohler fundraiser. Pray for plans for Awana and TBS. Pray for God to send us the right students for Awana and VBS. Pray that we listen with open ears to God’s Word.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
