Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, In our staff devotions, Pastor Charlie took us to Psalm 119. Psalm 119:65-68 “You have dealt well with Your servant, O Lord, according to Your word. 66 Teach me good judgment and knowledge, for I believe Your commandments. 67 Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep Your word. 68 You are good, and do good; Teach me Your statutes.” He noted that affliction is a tool God uses in teaching. Perhaps a literal reading of “afflicted” would be “made to respond.” Sometimes God teaches us by allowing things to enter our lives that make us respond to Him. O may I respond quickly!
Kathy R’s surgeries went well. The surgeon was pleased and said that he could understand why she has been in such pain. She was recovering in ICU last night. Kathy had told me she expected to be in the hospital for about 5 days. Pray for a quick recovery. She has a daughter getting married at the end of November. Also pray for wisdom and right treatment for the concer that remains in her body.
Patsy’s sprained ankle is still swollen. Pray she recovers. Van’s radiation treatments end this coming Wednesday. Pray for healing for Darryl’s shoulder surgery.
Praise the Lord for a successful Dutch Apple Pie Sale!
