Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, After the ruckus Jesus caused in the temple, the elders of Israel asked Him, “By what authority do you do these things?” We will be considering this text on Sunday morning. It has made me ask, “By what authority do we as a church or individuals do anything for God?” Although right answers may vary a little, the foundational response has to be “by the authority of the Word of God.” Oh may I, may we move humbly in the confidence that what we do is by the Book – the Bible!

Darryl M is having shoulder repair surgery today. Kathy R will be traveling to Chicago for her surgery next week. Van is coming to the end of his radiation treatments soon.

Don’t forget to swing by the church on Friday, September 29 from noon to 7:00 p.m. or Saturday, September 30 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. to pick up your freshly made Dutch Apple Pie. Over a third of the pies are already spoken for and I believe they will go quickly. Do yourself a favor and stock up for the holidays. The pies are $15. each.

Our Junior Church ministry needs help! The Dale S has led this ministry for the past two months. It’s time for someone else to step up and teach our children during the morning preaching time. We need someone for this coming Sunday, October 1st and the month of October. If you have curriculum questions see Beth B or Pastor Shaeffer.

When I scheduled a sing for this fall and put it on the calendar for October 1st, I really thought we’d have to be inside. So instead of Sing N S’mores I called it Sing N Snacks. Well, the weather report says it is going to be a beautiful evening. We are going to build a fire and have it outside at the parsonage at 6:30 p.m. Bring your lawns chairs and cookies/bars/chips. We will have water to drink. We’ll use a projector for the words of songs and enjoy singing to each other and God!

This Sunday morning is Lord’s Table. Our Choir will practice on Sunday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. We are going to resume Children’s Choir this Sunday too – also at 5:00 p.m.

Be faithful. God is faithful and true and we ought to emulate Him. Praise the Lord for His goodness.

Embracing Truth. Equipping Saints. Pastor
