Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 17:8 “Keep me as the apple of Your eye; Hide me under the shadow of Your wings.” I love the word picture of “apple of your eye.” First, it sounds cool. But I understand that it refers to our pupil, the black part of our eye. We don’t want debris of any kind to touch our pupil. Even wind can hurt. David asks to God to keep him as if he were God’s pupil – a very sensitive part of God. Praise God! I am treasured as valuable and cared for as fragile. “Oh God, keep me as the apple of Your eye.

Kathy R saw a doctor yesterday who gave her some hope that radiation would shrink the tumor pushing on her spine and lessen the pain. Pray for miraculous healing, wisdom, and relief from pain. Alex W went to the emergency room Sunday evening. He has stomach ulcers. He has been in much pain all weekend and is off work for this week. Pray he will let himself heal. We’ve good news and answers to prayer from Holly V’s family. They have been able to take her off the ventilator and might not have to transport her to a Milwaukee rehab hospital. She was able to talk some and lift up her arms. Pray for her continued recovery from GBS. Millie H was in church Sunday. She was praising God that an oral chemo has seemed to kill the lung cancer that had spread to her brain. She had oxygen with her. Pray for her continued recovery. Pray for Carolyn O, Bill S, Linda M, and Anita G as they continue to heal from surgeries. Van F continues his radiation treatment. Praise God he has not had pain or a lessening of strength.

Pray for those who are young in their faith, that they will keep their eyes on Jesus and not be swayed by the world and their own flesh.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, August 30th, is the last day of our summer Bible studies. There is also an Awana leaders’ meeting at 7:00 p.m. Awana begins next Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. and the adult study moves to the parsonage beginning at 6:45 p.m.

Sunday morning, September 3rd, is promotion Sunday. Certificates will be awarded and many young people will go to new classes. We will have two adult classes this fall. I am going to finish my walk through Jeremiah and then go on to Lamentations. Curt and April O are going to lead a study on Biblical Stewardship – taking care of what God has given to you.

We are not going to have our regular evening service this coming Sunday evening. Rather we are going to use the evening for distribution flyers for our Awana Clubs. Beth will have a table set up Sunday morning with supplies and instructions. You could meet at the church at 6:30 p.m. or just go from your home to the area assigned to you and begin distribution.

Praise the Lord for a busy church. God has given us an effective ministry. May God’s Word be exalted and the name of Jesus spoken often among us.

Embracing Truth. Equipping Saints. Pastor
