Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 2:1 Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? I smile every time I read this verse. Picture a strong man holding a 1 year old who is throwing a fit. The child is screaming, lunging first one way then another, kicking and slugging the man for all its worth. The man ignores the abuse, strongly holding the child in such a way to keep the child from harming itself or anyone else. This is the patience and strength of our God. The peoples of earth may throw a fit, cursing God as they will. The 4th verse of this chapter tells us the results of mans’ fits against God: He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision. God just smiles at the foolish antics of man. Their collective attack against righteousness, truth, and love is futile against our Omnipotent God.

Do you read the inserts in our bulletin? It is the best way to keep up on the missionaries we support. Also there is a weekly devotional that should cause you to spend a little time thinking on topics related to Sunday’s preaching. And then there are articles I have found an encouragement to me. This coming Sunday’s bulletin will include an essay by Pastor Scott Carson on the necessity of godly men, men of character.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, June 21, 2022, is our monthly Senior’s Lunch and Bible study picnic. We will meet at the Deneveu Shelter on Harbor View Dr. From the A&W, go east (away from Main St) to the 2nd road (if you count the one right beside the A&W). Take a left on Harbor View Dr and the shelter is on your immediate right. I’ll have plenty of ice and cooled drinks. Table service will be provided too. It’s a pot luck so bring a dish to share – it need not be a whole lot (we are old). I’ve decided to bring baked chicken. Anyone my join us. Those over 50 are especially encouraged to come!

God has always taken care of our church financially. In recent years we have witnesses a maturing of our Church in its finances. We have less debt and fewer expensive projects demanding our attention. In light of next Sunday’s annual meeting, let me keep you informed so as to help you in your giving to Trinity Baptist. Our proposed general fund weekly budget for 2022-2023 is $4,176.27. $80 above this year’s budget. Giving to our general fund this past year has been almost right on budget. Praise God for the faithful tithing and gifting of God’s people. We are proposing to raise our Mission budget by $275. per month. I’m happy to report that designations to Missions has increased over the past few years so that we have a cushion for this increase and that our current monthly giving will cover this proposed increase. Our school’s Patriot Booster budget is also being met. We budget $10,000 per year to be given to this fund and we are very close to that in our current fiscal year. We have spent over $20,000 this fiscal year on projection and sound equipment. The Worship Committee would like us to continue raising funds for this especially for live-streaming capabilities. We are hoping to soon finalize costs for this. The Building and Grounds Committee has identified a need of new folding chairs for our basement. We would like to purchase 100 chairs at $35. each. We will talk about all this at the annual meeting this coming Sunday afternoon, 1:00 p.m. My goal in this is to keep you informed so that you can be a part of this ministry in whatever manner the Lord may direct you.

In our Wednesday evening Bible study we will be in 2 Kings 3. We have adult, teen, and children’s studies during the summer months at 7:00 p.m.

Bless the Lord in your blessing of others. And may you be blessed in kind.

Embracing Truth, Pastor
