Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, I have greatly enjoyed our walk through Jude. This week we will begin a two-part examination of Faith Not Kept. When I first came to TBC, Pastor Roger Siedschlag was teaching our adult Sunday School. He taught a series on apostasy. He defined an apostate as someone who understands the gospel, knows it to be true, and yet turns away from God’s truth. As a believer I find this whole thought process incredible. But it is true, there are those who know the gospel is true and purposefully work against it.

In adult Sunday School, Pastor Shaeffer is teaching a great series that speaks to the importance and vibrancy of our faith. On Sunday evening he is preaching from Luke.

Attached is the coming week’s Here a Little. I’ve started a series on what the Bible teaches about issues we face every day. I will also be using this series in two Bible studies we will begin this week – a weekly men’s Bible study on Tuesdays at 6:00 a.m. and a monthly Bible study during noon lunch at Rolling Meadows on the 3rd Tuesday of the month. I’ll give more information on Sunday morning.

We are going to have a baptism service on August 23rd!

On Friday, August 21st, the Leeds are inviting the church family to our yard for a Garden Party to celebrate the marriage of Tom and Marie Murray. We will have a picnic buffet available at 5:00 p.m. Bring a card for the Murrays but no gift of any kind is necessary. If you plan on coming, let me know so I can plan at dleeds@trinityfdl.net.

Trinity Baptist School begins a new school year on Monday. Please pray for God’s protection and direction.

Embracing Truth, Pastor
