Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Trinity Baptist School has been working to memorize James 3:1-14. This morning I preached from here to the elementary students about their tongue. They understood well the imagery Paul uses. I was encouraged again to be careful when James writes “Out of the same mouth proceeds blessing and cursing.” He then compares our words to a spring. Can a spring give both fresh water and bitter water? No, either the spring is good or it is bad. So how can we worship and pray and then trash our family or our church? How can we speak good and use disgusting language? “Please God, help me to guard my words.”
Tonight is the last night of regular Awana. Finish those books! I know a lot of sections were said last week as clubbers anticipated Awana stone tonight. Next Wednesday evening is Awana Banquet and Awards! Dinner next week will begin at 5:30 p.m. There is a sign up on the back table in the auditorium for soda, cookies, or chips for the dinner.
On Wednesday, May 11th, we will begin our summer Bible studies at 7:00 p.m. I will be teaching the adults in the auditorium. Carolyn will have the children up through those going into 5th grade in the church basement. Pastor Charlie will have those going into 6th grade in the fall through high school in the SE classroom. The adults will be walking through the exciting story book of 2 Kings. I want to give a big “thank you” to Van for leading our adult study this year.
Pray for our school’s 3-5th grades as they travel to Green Bay on Friday for WACS academic competition. Pray for safety, learning, and the glory of Christ.
Dave called me yesterday with a message from Patsy. She said to tell us that she loves her church family. Dave told me that he is encouraged with her healing. No one is allowed to visit her at this time. Recovery is going to be a long road. Send cards to their home and Dave will get them to Patsy.
Continue to pray for healing for Kathy and Jean. Pray for Tom’s ear and the salvation of his mom. Pray for Travis and Michelle. Michell D will have tests this week to determine what kind of heart surgery she will have. Travis attended our church when he was a student at Maranatha.
Our missionary Rebekah F says that she was encouraged by Tim S when he was in Poland helping the Ukrainian refugees. She thanks us for our gift and is looking forward to buying supplies and delivering them to those in need.
Pray for revival in our church and in our country. Pray for children to be saved through our school, Awana, Sunday School, and junior church ministries. Pray for the young adults in our church to be wise in a mixed up world.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
