Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, 1 Corinthians 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.” We read this verse in our men’s Bible study a couple of weeks ago. I am struck by the verbs. The unsaved “are perishing.” They are dying even as they live. Believers “are being saved.” We are being transformed, made more like Jesus, and kept for eternity even as we live in this life.
Tomorrow evening is Awana Awards. Pulled pork is on the menu at 5:30 p.m. Awards will begin at 6:30 p.m. Come honor the clubbers who have done the work to finish their books.
Young Adults (those out of high school and above) meet this Friday at 7:00 p.m. at the Brakers. This Saturday, May 7th, is Men’s Prayer Breakfast at 8:00 a.m. Join the Schuellers and I for breakfast sandwiches, fellowship, and prayer. Sign up or let me know if you can come so we have enough.
Jean is home! She is excited to be back in her own house. Pray for her to continue to heal and gain strength. Patsy’s healing continues. I spoke with Dave this afternoon and he is encouraged.
Beth M was taken to the hospital this afternoon. She will likely have some kind of gall bladder surgery, but they will delay it because she tested positive for Covid. Pray for wisdom and healing.
