Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family: What a crazy world we live in. Yesterday’s circus in Madison made today’s national news. Not to dismiss the necessary politics of our government, but Isaiah tells us the LORD is really in control in Isaiah 66:1 where we read, “Heaven is My throne and earth is My footstool.” In 66:2 we learn to whom God listens – “On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at My word.” We need to ask ourself, “What am I more afraid of – COVID19 or the Word of God?” Then in Isaiah 66:4 we learn who ought to really be afraid: “So will I choose their delusions, and bring their fears on them; Because, when I called, no one answered, When I spoke they did not hear; but they did evil before My eyes, and chose that in which I do not delight.” Perhaps God is using COVID19 to call to us. If so and we ignore His voice, our fears will come on us. We need to fear God and not a virus!
Remember to pray for our military – especially those who are of our Congregation. Pray for Joe Chiero, Sam Denk, and Alex Kaufman. Pray they stay healthy. Pray the added tension caused by this virus not divert them from their duty. Pray for their consolation and that of their families as they are being kept apart.
Remember to pray for Ross Purcell. Hospice is bringing him home today from the Lutheran home. Carol is looking forward to seeing him again after a long and hard week.
Tomorrow evening Shad will again be teaching us doctrines of the Holy Spirit. If you have prayer requests that you would like to share ahead of time, you may reply to this email.
