Wednesday, April 8, 2020 Fear#23
Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family: Jeremiah 23 begins “Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of My pasture!” God is angry with the wicked leadership of Israel for their disregard of the welfare of the people. But God has a plan. The plan is Team Jesus! Jeremiah 23:4-5 4 I will set up shepherds over them who will feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, nor shall they be lacking,” says the Lord. 5 “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord, “That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; a King shall reign and prosper, And execute judgment and righteousness in the earth.” I believe the fulfillment of this text is in a yet-future, Messiah-ruled Kingdom.
What hope might we gain today from this text? God knows our leadership – the good and bad, the informed and the ignorant. God cares about “His sheep.” And God has a plan for the future. I will rejoice today in Who God is and His care for me.
