Tuesday, April 21, 2020 Fear#35
Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family: At the height of Jesus’ popularity among the multitudes, the enemies of Jesus accused Him of being on Satan’s team. They “began to assail Him vehemently and to cross-examine Him about many thing, lying in wait for Him, and seeking to catch Him in something He might say, that they might accuse Him.” Luke 11:53-54 In the midst of these vicious attacks, Jesus turned to the crowds of commoners following Him and said, “I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. 5 But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him! 6 “Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God. 7 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.” Luke 12:4-7
Sometimes we joke that some of us give God less work when it comes to hair counting. But every believer needs to remember that we are always “of more value than many sparrows.” So, fear God today and not COVID19. The President and the Governor do not control our destiny. Only God controls tomorrow and the next day and the next … “Do not fea therefore.”
