Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family,
1 Thessalonians 5:18 “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” Of all the world’s people, believers in Jesus ought to be most thankful. We know we deserve nothing and we know that we have received much. Gratitude ought to be every Christian’s attitude. It’s Thanksgiving week. We sang about thanks yesterday. We will take some time to thank God this week. May we all practice giving thanks often.
Tomorrow is Senior Lunch Day! We will meet Rolling Meadows at noon and order off the menu. After lunch we will continue our study of 1 Thessalonians picking it up at chapter 2. Come for the fellowship, food, and edification.
This Wednesday, November 22, we will not have our regular Bible at the parsonage nor Awana Clubs. We will have a Thanksgiving Service at the church at 7:00 p.m. There will not be child care. There will be singing led by Devin, Scripture reading, and a challenge by Pastor Charlie. This will be a sweet time of worship and reflection.
We have a missionary in Sunday School on the 26th. And it is Church Dinner Day! Then in the evening we are having an all-church decorating party at 5:00 p.m. Bring a snack to share and join us in decorating the church for Christmas!
If you will give gift cards as gifts this season, rather than purchase them at Walgreens or Walmart or the post office and let them earn the commission on the card, purchase them from Trinity Baptist School’s Scrip program. Beth would be happy to take your order. She stands in the back after church more Sunday mornings. We can get almost anything you’d like and have some cards in stock. If you place your order this Sunday, you’ll have it the following week. It costs you nothing. We take your check or cash and you get a card worth what you paid. When we order we make a small percentage on the card’s value. This is a cost-free way of helping our school stay affordable.
Today is Day 44 for the Hamas Hostages. Pray for their safety and release. Pray for wisdom for Israel. Pray for the ministry of the church in Israel and throughout the Arab world. Pray for peace. Pray for Jesus to return.
