Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, In Mark 1:35 we read that Jesus having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed. Jesus did not have an alarm. Did He not sleep well? Was His mind stirred up because of the crowds clamoring to see Him? Was He drained and disturbed because of the constant ministry to sick and demonic people? We don’t know why Jesus was awake, but we know what He did. He prayed. Ever had a sleep-deprived night? Of course you have. I’ve planned out whole military campaigns against my enemies in the middle of the night! I’ve also worried myself sick. How much better to talk to God? It is much better to dump our anxiety on Him. When morning came and Simon found Jesus, Jesus was refreshed. He said, “Let’s go minister!” O Lord, may I be more like Jesus.
Tomorrow, February 14th, is Senior Lunch Bible Study! We order lunch at Rolling Meadows at noon and then, after we eat, study God’s Word. Tomorrow we will be in Colossians 2:8-12 “Complete in Him.” Come join us for fellowship and edification.
Today, I had my pre-op physical. I was told everything looked good so things are moving forward to surgery on March 2nd.
I spoke with Jean W today. She is still doctoring to reduce her back pain. I also spoke with Michelle B today. Her Rheumatoid Arthritis greatly hinders her movement and church attendance. She asks that we pray for wisdom as she continues to deal with the details remaining from Wayne’s passing. Pray for those down with viruses and flus.
I rejoice in the good church attendance God is giving us. We had 43 at our Family Valentine Party on Saturday evening and 50 back in church for last night’s preaching. We had 126 in church yesterday morning. These are healthy numbers. They tell me that God is working in people’s hearts. Pray for those attending who may need to make decisions for Christ.
Pray for the upcoming non-partisan elections – February 21st. I have printed out an example of how I believe I should vote and put it on the MOT.
Pray for our church that God’s Word might rule in our hearts. Pray for our country that we might have liberty and a desire to please God.
