Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 15:1 “Lord, who may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill?” Who is allowed in God’s presence? Who has the privilege of the presence of God? David answers this question in the next verse: he who walks uprightly and works righteousness and speaks the truth. We needn’t wonder why our prayers are not answered or why we don’t enjoy worship when our lives are filled with the scum and crud of sin. “O God, may my heart be clean and my thoughts righteous that I might live in your presence.”

Ken’s AFib treatments were not successful in returning his heart to a normal rhythm. He was given some medication and other tests/procedures were recommended. Pray for wisdom for Ken and the doctors as they determine the best way to relieve his shortness of breath.

Amy says Lola has been in a bit of a “holding pattern” this week. Her wounds continue to heal and gain good color. The infections team still has one “bug” to clear. Pray for Paul and Amy as they learn what they will need to do to care for Lola at home. Pray that Lola might return home soon! Pray for Lola’s continued healing. Praise God for the success of Lola’s healing and restoration thus far.

I tested negative for COVID so my biopsy at Froedtert is on for tomorrow morning. Lin and I will need to be in Milwaukee at 7:00 a.m. for a 9:00 a.m. procedure. Pray that this is successful so that we might learn what this is that the CT scans have revealed. I will likely not know results until the middle of next week.

We added two missionary families to our regular support at our quarterly business meeting this past Sunday evening – Junior and Abby Taylor to Mozambique and Rebekah Fruin to Ukraine. They are both nearing the end of their furlough ministries and would hope to be on the field in 2021. Let’s join them in praying for these results.

Continue to pray for our church as we navigate this 2020 year of COVID. Pray for our church finances to be strong. Pray for God’s protection of our ministries – school, Sunday School, Awana, youth, Bible studies, worship. Pray for wisdom. Yesterday, the governor’s office put in place a 25% occupancy rule. Exemptions from this rule include both schools and churches. Our ministry is not impacted. However, this is a good reminder of our dependence upon God. We need wisdom from God that we might continue to obey Him. We need His protection because we know that only God can keep us.

Psalm 16 begins “Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust.” May this be our continuous prayer.

Embracing Truth, Pastor
