Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Charlie has had us reading from Jeremiah in our morning staff meetings this week. In chapter 2 I have marked in my Bible 3 times where God tells Israel that they have forsaken Him. Here are the first two: Jeremiah 2:13 “For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, and hewn themselves cisterns—broken cisterns that can hold no water.” 2:17  “Have you not brought this on yourself, in that you have forsaken the Lord your God when He led you in the way?” How silly of us to trade a fountain for a broken cistern! And how tragic that we would bring judgment upon us by turning from the God who desires to lead us in the right way! O, that my heart might be bent toward God this and every day. This coming Lord’s Day, missionary Vincent Blanchard will tell us of his burden in Sunday School and again after lunch. Sunday is Church Dinner Day! My title is “Walk in Light” as we consider what God would have for us in the first 17 verses of Ephesians 5.

I encourage you to consider joining our Bible studies. A men’s Bible study meets for one hour at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesdays. We are reading Acts chapter by chapter. A ladies’ study meets at Beth Braker’s home at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesdays.

Continue to pray for the health of Dave and Kathy. Dave has been told that he will adjust to his meds. Kathy is over half way through her chemo. Pray for those who are fighting colds and Covid. Pray for wisdom and strength for each of us and we enter another flu season. Pray for God’s protection of our elderly.

Jon and Ruth were in Kansas City last weekend and will be in Texas this week.

The Teens have Hayride N’ Bonfire at Mohr’s at 5:00 p.m. this Saturday. See Pastor Charlie if you have any questions.

Pray for our country to repent from forsaking our God. Pray for our church to repent from our own sins. Pray for the Word of God to be bigger than any of us on the Lord’s Day. Rejoice in the Lord, always.

Embracing Truth, Pastor
