Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 17:1 “Hear a just cause, O Lord, Attend to my cry; Give ear to my prayer which is not from deceitful lips.” David thought he had a good case to bring before God. In fact, as David examined his own heart, he believed he was behaving in a godly manner. The book of Hebrews tells us to “Come boldly to the throne of grace.” I want to challenge us today to so live our lives and so guard our hearts that as we petition God with causes we believe are just that we do so with confidence.

Lola is home. Continue to pray for her and her family as they work through her continued healing. Pray for our former church member and former school teacher Pastor Doug Hanback. His Facebook post reads “Doug found out this week that he has cancer of the bladder. It has been found early and the tumor will be removed and a chemo drug administered on Oct 21st.” Pray for Ken Rosenthal and his heart’s AFib. Also former member Bev Baum has asked that we pray for her. She has tested positive for COVID but has few symptoms. Jeremy has also asked us to pray for Alexa – the daughter of a friend of his who has terminal cancer. They are using radiation this week to lessen symptoms and are then going to try an experimental drug.

We praise God with the Marsh and Westra families as they both welcomed new grandchildren. Amanda (Marsh) had her fourth – Knox Charles Pearce. And Savanna (Westra) had her first – Kennedy Joy Campbell.

I rejoice in the fun weekend we just had. 46 participated in the Cider Pressing and Chili Dump at the Carter’s home. The cider and the food were both excellent. Curt smoked both brisket and ribs to add to the chili and goodies. Yum. Then last night 54 gathered in the basement of the church to sing. My soul was refreshed again by participating in the praise of God with the voices of other believers. Besides all this, we had church!

I have attached the Here a Little for the coming week. The topic is “What does the Bible say about taxes?”I hope these topical studies are an encouragement, whether you are just doing them on your own or joining us for Men for Christ or Sunday School or the Senior Lunch/Study. The next senior lunch is a week from Tuesday on October 20th.

Wednesday is Awana Pie Auction. It begins at 7:00 p.m. in the church auditorium. Friday is Grandparent’s Day at TBS. I’ve heard enough practicing to know the program will be a blessing. And there will be soup! Everything begins at noon on Friday. RSVP to Beth at bbraker@trinityfdl.net is we don’t know you are coming. Jeremy wants to arrange seating in a COVID sensitive manner.

Be in the Word of God. Bathe in it. Eat it. Enjoy it. Fellowship with the Spirit of God through God’s Word.

Embracing Truth,  Pastor
