Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family: I have had a note on my desk for a week to remind me to write you a letter. Meanwhile, I have kept being distracted by one more thing to do. I’m sorry I did not get a letter your way last week.
I rejoice in the grand Lord’s Day we had. We have 3 new members! Kayla, Annamary, and Isaac Struska all joined our Congregation by baptism. We rejoiced to hear their testimony of when and how they joined God’s family.
Sunday night we heard Charlie preach from Hebrews 8 & 9. I love how our church has seen the maturing of many preachers over these many years. Charlie did a good job handling a rich doctrinal text.
My family is going to Iowa on Thursday for the triennial Leeds’ runion. We are going to Waupaca to pick up my folks and then to Cherokee, IA. The reunion is Friday evening through Sunday noon. We will be home late Sunday evening – in time to welcome Zeke, Hannah, Liam, Quincy, and Synclaire! Zeke is flying home from Cyprus to the USA today! Then, next week our whole clan – Lin and I, children, their spouses, and grandchildren are going to Door Country Tuesday through Friday morning. A lot of traveling and a lot of good family time is scheduled in the next 10 days.
I have really been enjoying our walk through the Bible with an agenda of maturing our theology of the kingdom. This Wednesday night, I will be going from the Lord’s Table through the Ascension. On Sunday morning, Charlie will be going from Pentecost to the Jerusalem church council. Next Wednesday, July 24th, Jeremy will finish Acts and begin our study of the kingdom in the epistles.
Pastor Shaeffer is your preacher this coming Sunday morning and evening. I know you will be blessed and encouraged with what God lays on his heart.
Sunday, July 28th begins Vacation Bible School – WANTED! We are going to use Bible stories to teach our students that we are all WANTED! by God. We will begin these lessons during our morning Sunday School hour and then continue them Sunday through Wednesday evening at 6:30p. There is a VBS workers meeting tomorrow evening at 6p.
Trinity Baptist is hosting a VCY rally on Friday evening, September 26th at 7p. I am pretty sure we are going to have a full house! The speaker is Mike Gendron – the founder of Proclaiming the Gospel. The doors open at 6p.
Men’s Retreat is Thursday, August 1st-Saturday, August 3rd. The sign-up is in the auditorium.
