Tuesday, February 9, 2021 – Tony McCrary
Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, This afternoon our fellow church member and friend Tony McCrary left this earth that he might be welcomed home by Jesus. He had been in the hospital for a couple of weeks from COVID. Those who had prayed for him these past years know that his body was weakened by infections and chronic issues. This was a fight God did not let Tony win.
I liked Tony. I’m not sure why, but I enjoyed his company. When Tony first came to Trinity Baptist he would compare my preaching to others. He said other preachers say “some experts say.” You don’t. You just say what the Bible says.
I had the honor of doing a Bible study with Tony. One week he came to Taco Bell all excited. He said, “I get it.” “Get what?” I said. Tony said, “All it is is trust. Just trusting Him.” He got it. Tonight, Tony is with the Savior Who forgave all his sins in Whom Tony placed his trust.
I sorrow tonight. But I will trust Him.
