Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 131:1-2 “Lord, my heart is not haughty, nor my eyes lofty. Neither do I concern myself with great matters, nor with things too profound for me. 2 Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with his mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me.” The NIV finishes verse 2 with “like a weaned child I am content.” Paul will write that “godliness with contentment is great gain.” Christians ought to practice contentment. In Christ we have all we need for salvation and sanctification. In the hospital I was asked many times to measure my pain on a scale of 1 to 10. O may I, as a Christian, claim a 10 on my contentment scale.

My surgery went as expected. And my recovery is going as well as I ought to expect, but not as fast as I want. The pathology report I read on my chart is as expected to my amateur reading. I’ll know more what my Froedtert surgeon thinks when Lin and I return for a post-op visit this coming Tuesday.

A big thank you to Lin, my family, and the Shaeffers for going above and beyond. Also thanks to Darryl for coming in to cover my classes for these days. And an even bigger thank you to all who prayed. The staff at Froedtert is skilled and humane. And we have a God who heals. I am blessed.

Tomorrow and Saturday, about a dozen ladies from TBC are joining about 600 others at the Green Lake Conference Center for the annual WFBC Ladies’ Retreat. Pray for their safety and spiritual blessing.

I see on the calendar that the teens have a game night on Friday, March 31st at 6:00 p.m. I assume that is at Pastor Charlie’s home. Contact him if you have any questions. Say “hi” to Jack for me.

Men’s Prayer Breakfast is this Saturday, April 1st, at the church at 8:00 a.m. I believe a combination of Schueller, Thoune, and Bakke are providing breakfast this month. We eat at 8:00 a.m., then share requests and pray. Men and boys are welcome to join us. We are always done before 9:30 a.m.

Pastor Shaeffer is our preacher on Sunday morning and Pastor Charlie on Sunday evening this week. I hope to see you in your place.

Pray for our country. Pray for the upcoming Wisconsin elections. An information sheet provided by one of our members is on the MOT in the auditorium.

Pray for those hurting in our country. Many are confused because they have no contentment in Christ!

Embracing Truth. Equipping Saints. Pastor
