Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family,

Psalm 145:8-9 “The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and great in mercy. 9 The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works.” As I consider this new year, I revel in the mercies of God. My intentions, even resolutions, all fail without the ever present mercy of God. The mercy of God is abundant and universal.

I praise the Lord for the good attendance and great spirit I felt during our Holiday services. We had 154 on Christmas Eve. This week’s fellowship times were also well attended with 45 at church dinner and 56 back on Tuesday evening for our Family Grub and Games night. I’m sorry to report that the ladies won Pastordy – again. A special thanks to Tony B for bringing part of his game collection and to Dale S for returning on New Year’s Day to clean up the kitchen and dining/game area.

Many of our regular activities are resuming this week. Teen Bible study is tonight, Thursday, at Charlie and Brittany’s at 6:00 p.m. Acts 29, the young adult Bible study, meets at Brakers on Friday at 7:00 p.m. And we have Men’s Prayer Breakfast this Saturday at 8:00 a.m. in the church basement. If you would like to join us for breakfast and have not signed up, reply to this email and let me know.

We begin a new series this Lord’s Day morning. I intend to work through the Apostle John’s epistles during the next few months. In 1st John our focus will be Knowing Jesus.Sunday is Lord’s Table Day. Our benevolent offering following Lord’s Table will go to Charis Pregnancy Help Center here in Fond du Lac.

We also begin a new Sunday School series this Lord’s Day. Darryl M is presenting a survey of Old Testament theology during this Spring Trimester of adult Sunday School. Our choirs resume practice this Sunday afternoon at 5:00 p.m.. Also on Sunday evening, Pastor Charlie will be finishing his walk through the book of Philippians at the 6:30 p.m. service.

I’ve heard many schools resumed classes today. Warning to our staff and students: get well and get ready! Second semester begins on Monday, January 6th!

Pray today for the Abundant Life school in Madison. Students will be returning to classes for the first time since the shooting. Pray too for the church of Jesus to find opportunities to minister in light of the tragedy in New Orleans this week. Continue to pray for the church in war-torn parts of the world. And pray for stability and peace in our country as our government changes hands.

Have you plans for your Bible reading in 2025? You will not read more than you purpose to read. Many Bible reading plans are available online.

Prepare your heart for the Lord’s Day.

Embracing Truth. Equipping Saints.

Pastor
