Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Tomorrow is Father’s Day. The national holiday is set aside to recognize the place of fathers in our lives. If, like me, you had a godly father who taught you about Jesus, please consider yourself wealthy. If you had an earthly father who loved you and put you ahead of his own wants, consider yourself blessed. If you had an earthly father who protected you from evil and from your own stupidity, you are a fortunate minority.

In a larger sense, every Sunday is Father’s Day because it is the Lord’s Day. That’s what John called it. (Revelation 1:10) Jesus addressed God as Father more than any other way. If you are a believer, you have an ever-gracious Heavenly Father. He teaches and protects. And He loves us so much that He gave His Best for us.

Pray for healing for our country. Pray for your family. Pray for marriages in our church. Pray for our young people to be godly in spite of this present evil world. Pray for God’s Word to shine brighter than any of us as we gather to praise Jesus and edify the saints.

Embracing Truth, Pastor
