Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 46:1-3 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; 3 Though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah Have you seen any mountains carried into the middle of the sea recently? OK, not literally, but maybe it felt like this. Perhaps someone disappointed you. Perhaps your health had failed. Perhaps the turmoil of our world has unsettled your soul. May I suggest that you read again Psalm 46.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, May 17th, is our Senior Lunch Bible Study at Rolling Meadows. We meet to order  off the menu at noon and then open God’s Word. We have finished our topical study. Since I have not received any requests, I am going to choose the book of Colossians. Perhaps you might want to read chapter 1, especially the first 8 verses before tomorrow’s lunch. I’ll work on a calendar to help everyone plan when these lunches will be, you know, to keep the doctors appointments on other days!

Wednesday, May 18th, is TBS Awards Night and Kindergarten Graduation. Henley Braker, Abraham Huizenga, and Sofia Shaeffer are our graduates this night. The elementary choir is going to sing a package of songs. (You will enjoy this!) Awards recognizing athletic and academic achievements will be distributed. This evening begins at 6:30 p.m. There will be no Bible studies or child care provided for this evening.

Jean’s surgery has been bumped back to 2:00 p.m. this afternoon. She is putting in a long day! The surgery they are doing on her leg is quite involved. Pray for great skill for the doctors and miraculous healing for Jean.

Beth M sees a surgeon today to learn when and what kind of gall bladder surgery she might be having. Continue to pray for Patsy’s healing. It was fun to have her checking in by text on how the work day went on Saturday. Pray for Carolyn O’s sister Cindy. She has stage 4 cancer and they are yet to learn what kind of treatment is ahead of her.

I am so proud of our church family. We had so many people involved in ministry this week! People were cleaning, repairing, and organizing. We had committee meetings and a choir practice. How about that choir number on Sunday! We had a good group back again last night for the evening service and heard a good sermon from Jeremy. God is good.

Pray for Jeremy’s health this week. He is either suffering greatly from allergies or has been bitten by some bug. Pray for our students and staff. Four more days!

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Embracing Truth, Pastor
