Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! First I want to rejoice for the good preaching of God’s Word we heard on this Lord’s Day. Darryl, Ryan, and Charlie all were exemplary in their handling of their texts. Then, I also want to rejoice for the willingness of God’s people to worship in spite of the cold building. We began Sunday School with an auditorium at 57°. The Church showed up with smiles on their faces and blankets over their arms. Our willing repair man soon got one furnace going and the day was more pleasant. Finally, I want to praise God that it seems this morning that no pipes froze in the night. (I had asked several to pray). As we left the building, there were several zones where it seemed there was no heat. Well, God kept the wind still and the temps warm enough that the building seems to be fine this morning.

We cancelled school today because we had several classrooms with little to no heat last night. This morning those zones seem to be doing better. We do have a repair man scheduled to come today. Pray for wisdom as we learn what may be our options.

Pray for Rebekah Fruin, our missionary in Kiev, Ukraine. You are hearing on the news of the build up of tension at the Ukraine/Russian border. Pray for the churches in Ukraine and the safety of missionaries.

Pray for our friends Roger and Sharon Siedschlag – pastor of 1st Baptist, Horicon and former member of Trinity Baptist. Sharon’s brother passed away last week. They are traveling to PA for a funeral. Pray for Sharon’s grieving family including a wife and 2 children.

Jean W says she is making a little more progress every time I speak with her. Pray for her healing and for wisdom concerning what might be the next steps in her care. It was good to see Dave and Kathy in church yesterday. Continue to pray for their health. They are heading south for February! Pray for others with colds or Covid symptoms. Anita G has been fighting a cold.

Now for an advertisement. Souped Up! is two weeks from Thursday, on February 3rd. It’s time for me to begin roasting meats and chopping carrots. You are welcome to come by the church and pick up quarts of soup that day at $10 per quart. If you want certain kinds of soup reserved for you, I strongly encourage you to place an order. We will make lunch deliveries that day to businesses. Please, spread the news. There are forms at church or Beth can email you one. We hope to sell more than 400 quarts of soup. This year’s soup varieties include: Chili, Cream of Chicken Vegetable, Beef N’ Barley, Italian Tortellini, Sunday Dinner, Chicken Vegetable Rice, and Cream of Potato. (“No gluten added” varieties would be Chili and Chicken Vegetable Rice.)

Enjoy the day the Lord has given you!

Embracing Truth, Pastor
