Dear Praying friends, I am still in Sucre…getting 25 years of “stuff” put into boxes proved to be a bigger task that was first anticipated. Still, on Tuesday of this week, I watched from the upstair window as my things were loaded onto a truck.  With the house empty (but still needing much cleaning) I felt a mixture of emotions.  Yesterday, we finished the cleaning and will turn the house over to the owners today!  What a chore!  As I have said to many people, I sure am glad that we don´t have to pack to go to Heaven!

My son-in-law preached on Sunday night in Christ is Coming Baptist Church.  He did a great job and I teased him by telling him that one day he just might be my pastor.  Rene offered to buy my stove because she wanted to give it to her mother who lives close to the church.  Her mother had been using a little two ring burner to cook for her large family.  I decided to just give the stove to Rene so that I could be a blessing to both.  My granddaughter swallowed a small plastic piece from some toys that were laying around.  We rushed her to the emergency room, and the doctors basically told us, ¨This, too, shall pass.”  Rene had a tooth become absessed and so had to go to the dentist.  While there, Rene got a phone call from some of her college peers.  She needed to return to Santa Cruz, sooner than expected, in order to finish her final exam early.  Just one problem – there were no flights available.  God´s timing is always perfect and He can even use an absessed tooth.  My dentist heard us trying to find a flight and offered to contact a patient of hers that worked at one of the local airlines.  He was able to get seats for both Rene and Abigail.  Rafahel left the same day on a different flight and airline.  It was a crazy morning, but it was neat to see how the Lord worked everything out.

I will not be returning to Santa Cruz until Tuesday of next week.  My dentist hopes to get everything done by then.  I put off going to the dentist in the States because of the cost and so have had much work to be done.  The Lord has been gracious to provide for each and every need of this trip and I am thankful.

This past Sunday I invited 4 people to visit the Deaf church.  I was surprised that all 4 actually came.  I say that because it is very common for people to promise to come and then not show up.  It was a very pleasant surprise!  Juan, the young man who is filling in for the Maries while they are on furlough, is doing a great job.  His parents are Deaf and he is fluent in Sign Language.  I love watching him teach!  I will try to send pictures in my next update.  I am still using Cynthia´s computer and while nice, I am still trying to figure out how to use it.  Please continue praying for the Deaf church in Sucre.  Cynthia has asked me to go with her to visit two Deaf who used to come (before the Maries) but who are now involved with the Jehovah´s Witnesses.  Please pray that these visits will be fruitful.

Well, I will close for now.  Have a great day in the Lord!
Your co-labourer in Christ, Carolyn
