Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family,

Psalm 146:3-7 “Do not put your trust in princes, Nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help. 4 His spirit departs, he returns to his earth; In that very day his plans perish. 5 Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God, 6 Who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them; Who keeps truth forever, 7 Who executes justice for the oppressed, Who gives food to the hungry. The Lord gives freedom to the prisoners.” In our current political season, my hope is in the God Who made heaven and earth!

May I ask a favor of you? If you are able to walk a block or so, would you consider walking from Cottage Avenue or McDermott Park when you come to church on Sunday mornings? If a few who are young and able would make this a new habit, it would help our church be inviting to visitors. Recently our lot has been full on Sunday mornings. We have had people drive through our lot, not find a spot, and leave. A full lot is a good problem! Please help if you are able.

On a related issue, parents please give young children guidelines for parking lot behavior. It cannot be a place to run and play. There are just too many people backing up. Teach children to watch for cars when they cross the lot.

Tomorrow is Men’s Prayer Breakfast. We meet at 8:00 a.m. in the church basement for breakfast. Andrew has chosen pancakes. We take prayer requests and pray after we eat. We will be done before 9:30 a.m. Join us.

We will have a Men’s Meeting at 5:00 p.m. Sunday evening. All men are welcome. We will be considering a couple bids for security cameras and talking about other safety issues.

Sunday morning I am in 1 Timothy 2:1-8. We have two adult Sunday School classes. A New Members class is being taught by Pastor Shaeffer. Curt and Ben are continuing to teach on the Attributes of God. Charlie will be preaching from Philippians on Sunday evening.

Our school has several fund raisers in September. Please take advantage of these good deals and help out the school at the same time.

Pray for our country. Pray for our church to be led by the Spirit of God as we receive the Word of God.

Embracing Truth. Equipping Saints.

Pastor
