Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 25:10 All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth, To such as keep His covenant and His testimonies. Every path I take, if I keep his covenant, is mercy and truth. Mercy is not receiving the judgment I deserve. Truth is pure and right, it can be trusted. Every path the Lord gives me is mercy and truth.
Yesterday Lin and I saw a nurse practitioner who was going to teach us concerning my upcoming chemo. She directed us to sit down and then asked, “How are you?” We looked at each other and both answered, “Good.” She shook her head and said jokingly, “You’re lying.” The truth is: we are doing well. God is good.
Pastor Shaeffer spent last night in the hospital. He went to the doctor yesterday because he has been fighting with a growing amount of pain. He has not fully recovered from where he was a few years ago, but new discomfort has grown this fall. They kept him for a series of scans and blood work. He was back teaching today. He tells me that the next step is Mayo Clinic. Please pray with me that Jeremy might find relief.
Our new missionary Rebekah Fruin will be in Awana and the adult Bible study tonight. It is nice having her close enough to come up for a day. Pray for her as she prepares to go to Ukraine in 2021.
Sunday is Church Dinner Day! In the morning I am preaching from 1 Peter 3:18-4:6 – a passage with some confusing thoughts. In the afternoon I will be in 1 Samuel 14 continuing the story of Saul.
Pray for our country. Our election is less than 2 weeks away. Every believer ought to vote. And we ought to pray.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
