Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, One good thing about being in a position of leadership is that it makes you do good that you might not otherwise do. For instance, a parent might say “excuse me” because she is teaching a small child to be polite. Often, as pastor, I find I am prodded to do good things because I have encouraged others. Currently, I am encouraging us to read the chapter in Proverbs that matches the number of the day of the month or complete the “Here a Little” in the bulletin or at least read something in the Proverbs during the week. I find that I am being pushed to spend more time in my Bible. It’s a good thing.
Here comes another busy Wednesday evening. Pray for the many activities that happen in this place on Wednesday nights. Pray that teenagers be encouraged in their service of Jesus, that some Clubbers might learn of and receive salvation, that children and adults might learn the Bible, and that God be glorified in all of it.
I don’t think Men’s Prayer Breakfast was mentioned on Sunday. If you are planning to attend, please let me know by Friday noon so I can be prepared. Sign up tonight if you are at the church. We had a sweet time with over a dozen in attendance last month. I look forward to another time of fellowship and encouragement this Saturday at 8:00 a.m.
Speaking of sweet times – thank you Curt and Sue for hosting the Apple Cider Making Fellowship. A couple of dozen gallon of cider were made and Curt served the best ribs I think I have ever eaten. We had a great turn out for Church Dinner on Sunday. There was no want of good food. I pray the spiritual food was also good.
Sunday we observe Lord’s Table. I am going to be in Matthew 22 examining the Scribes’ and Pharisees’ attempt to discredit Jesus. Sunday evening is our quarterly business meeting. I plan on having financial reports ready for you to see on Sunday morning.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
