Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, The first time Jeremiah speaks of the Messiah is in Jeremiah 23:5-6. Note that Jesus is spoken of as a righteous King. All those in leadership ought to strive to be righteous as they carry out their duties. “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord, “That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; A King shall reign and prosper, and execute judgment and righteousness in the earth. 6 In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell safely; Now this is His name by which He will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Thank you to those who prayed for safety for Lin and I as we travelled to Antigo for the WFBC board meeting. We saw the hand of God protecting and guiding us along the way. We left in a white Ford Expedition and returned in a red Ford Ecosport. Our car died at our destination! Long story short: we will be returning to Antigo for our anniversary on Tuesday to reclaim our Expedition!
Pray for wisdom and safety for Missionary Lloyd Peace. His plane broke down up river. I’ll have his letter at Bible study tonight and we will also include it in an upcoming bulletin.
Mollie H is having a biopsy today. Pray that they learn what to do to clear the gunk from her lungs. Continue to pray for cancer treatments for Van’s sister in law Kelly, Kathy T, Carolyn O’s sister Cindy, and Kathy’s friends Sheila and Susy. Pray for Kathy’s test results to be treatable. Pray for Donna B’s heart valve repair on June 23rd. Sarah L saw a doctor today. Pray that the drug she received and physical therapy might help her back pain. Pray for Crystal’s parents health.
Sue L called this afternoon to say that they had a lot of damage from this storm. (I have prayed for rain!) Pray for safety in this storm.
Beginning this Friday evening, the boys’ basement bathroom at church is going to receive a major remodel. Matt M is leading this project. A sign up for helping has been on the MOT. Please come by and see what you can do to help. The plan is to have most of it done within a week.
This Friday, June 2nd, Acts29 (our young adult Bible study) is having a picnic at the Brakers. Bring your own meat to grill. If you have questions, contact the Brakers.
On Saturday, June 3rd, all the adults of the church are welcome to join us for a time of fellowship. We are meeting at Fondy Sports complex to play mini-golf at 5:00 p.m. Then we will be going to Kelly’s for ice cream.
On Sunday evening, June 4th, we will have a Sing N S’mores for our evening service. Bring a lawn chair, bug spray, and S’more fixins.
This Sunday morning, we return to the gospel of Mark and find the disciples in another storm. In Sunday School, we have week 1 of our New Members Class. The topic is “the Congregation.” The auditorium class will continue our walk through Jeremiah.
May the Word of God live in you to the extent that evil cannot find a home.
