Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 97:10-12 You who love the Lord, hate evil! He preserves the souls of His saints; He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked. 11 Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart. 12 Rejoice in the Lord, you righteous, And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name. The command to hate evil jumps out at me. Do I really hate evil? And then, I like the metaphor of light and gladness being sown. When something is sown it multiplies! May I trust today in the deliverance of the Lord from evil and darkness.

Norma D is still at Froedtert. Nestor says she will have a CT scan this evening, if her pancreas is not inflamed they will remove her gall bladder tomorrow. Please pray that this might be the case.

On Sunday we told you that Lin’s brother had passed away. A tribute to John’s ministry can be found at http://dlvr.it/Rpzv8B A funeral will be held at the First Baptist Church of Hawthorne, NV on Thursday, January 7th at 1:00 p.m. PT. Then a midwestern memorial service will be held at the Olivet Baptist Church in Westwood, KS on Friday, January 22nd at 10:30 a.m. CT. Lin, Sarah, and I plan to attend the service in Kansas on the 22nd. Continue to pray for the Murray family as they trust God through His severe work in our lives.

Today is Pastor Shaeffer’s birthday!

Do not be afraid! Fear not. Trust in the Lord. These words are repeated continually in the Scriptures. We are disobedient children when we worry or fear. Often, anger follows our worry and fear. We naturally lash out at those we blame or at those who are nearby. (Could we please acknowledge that only God is smart enough to understand or start or end COVID?) Let’s trust and obey.

Embracing Truth, Pastor
