Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Nahum 1:7 “The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him.” As I texted my sympathy to Pastor Matt G because of his dad’s likely soon home-going, he responded “Nahum 1:7.” I looked it up. In the middle of this little book which is full of denunciations against wicked Nineveh is this little gem about God and His people. First, the Lord is good. Goodness is part of His very character. He cannot be anything but good. Then, He is our safety in trouble. Even as we face death, God is our rock, our high tower. And then, best of all, He knows me!

Our former church member Dennis G was on palliative care and not expected to live as of yesterday afternoon. Dennis had preached 3 times at his son’s church two weeks ago. A week later he and his wife came down with Covid. Because of his cancer fight, Dennis went down hill quickly. Please pray for this good family. They are friends of this church.

Jean is at St. Francis. She covets your prayers that she might quickly regain strength to walk and care for herself. She’d like to be home for Christmas!

Kathy R has one more round of chemo. Pray for strength and healing.

Tonight is the last Awana and Bible study until January 5th.

This Friday, December 17th, all adults of Trinity Baptist are invited to come to the parsonage for a Christmas Party. Bring appetizers and sweets to share. The fun begins at 6:00 p.m.

“What does the Bible say about Immigration and Refugees?” will be the topic of our Senior Bible Study at Rolling Meadows on Tuesday, December 21st.

Our Candlelight Christmas Eve service will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 24th.

Pray for the many, many families who are grieving loss after this week’s tornados. Pray for Christians to glorify God in their service and in their responses to the great needs.

Embracing Truth, Pastor
