Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 37:7a “Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.” Our world is broken. Sometimes it is upside down. The believer takes solace in resting and waiting. When there is so much that we cannot control, our best and only logical option is to rest and wait for the LORD.
While we were in Church this past Sunday we learned that Kathy R had left our current life and entered one where she can see Jesus face to face. She no longer has a weak body overcome by cancer. On Sunday she took on a new heavenly body like the one Jesus has. Kathy was an enthusiastic supporter of all things Trinity Baptist. She is already missed. Please pray for Dave, her daughters, granddaughters, sisters, and many other family members who are sorrowing. And pray that Jesus be glorified in these days following Kathy’s passing.
Kathy wanted her memorial service to be at Trinity Baptist Church. The limitations of our church, especially our parking lot, have made it wise to move this service to another venue. The visitation and memorial service for Kathy will be at Lighthouse Christian Church on National Avenue. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 27th until the time of the service. A celebration of Kathy’s life will begin at 2:00 p.m. A luncheon will follow at the Radisson.
I encourage Trinity Baptist Church to come together for Kathy’s memorial service. It is right that we do so. Let us show Kathy’s family and our community the strength and blessing of being part of the family of God – the Church. We will sorrow and joy together.
It was good to see David and Carolyn O back in church Sunday. Pray for their healing to continue.
I received this update from Joe C concerning his nephew: “AJ has been diagnosed with IVC Atresia. He was born without the major vein that returns blood to his heart. It’s pretty amazing how his body has compensated all these years. He has formed a ton of collateral circulation/tiny veins in that area that have been “getting the job done.” This is super rare and most specialists haven’t seen it. They plan for him to re-enter school next week, just for a couple of hrs. He still needs the ability to do school from home because he has lots of appts and very little energy. They are waiting to consult with vascular interventional radiologist at Northwestern who, when the time comes, will do AJ’s IVC reconstruction. It’s not something to rush into as he is still growing and it comes with its own set of risks/issues. AJ still walks with a cane for extra support and his legs do give out if he pushes too much. One leg has improved and one continues to be filled with clots. They are hoping he will continue to improve to have a better quality of life than he currently has. If not, surgery may come sooner. Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers.”
This Sunday is Church Dinner Day. A week from Thursday is Souped Up!
Love God supremely. Love others sacrificially. There will be love enough left for self!
