Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 37:3 “Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.” This verse is my text for my challenge at Kathy’s Memorial tomorrow. Trust involves action. It is not a feeling, but a state of mind resulting in behavior.

Kathy Rabe’s memorial service will be at Lighthouse Christian Church on National tomorrow, January 27th, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation is from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. A luncheon will follow at the Radisson. Kathy’s choice would have been for the service to be at Trinity Baptist. The logistics of parking and seating given the expected numbers make Lighthouse a better choice. I remind all of us that the Church is not a building. A building may be set aside as the place where the Church meets, but the Church is the people.  I encourage our church family to attend. Let’s be the Church! Pray for Dave and his family.

Sunday morning, January 28, we return to our 2 adult Sunday School classes: “Foundations for Christian Living” and “Acts of the Apostles.” I will be in Hebrews 2:1-4 on Sunday – “So Great Salvation.” Sunday is Church dinner Day! Bring enough for your family and a little more. I will be finishing up the book of Esther this week during the afternoon’s devotions.

Thursday, February 1st is Souped Up! at Trinity Baptist School. We will have quarts of soup for pick up ready from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. If you would like us to reserve your quarts, please turn in an order form by Monday the 29th. Soup is $12 per quart this year. It freezes!

Today is day 111 for the 132 hostages of Hamas. While we have enjoyed our freedom, they have been held captive. Pray for their release. Pray for the church in Gaza and in Israel to be strong in their work for the Lord.

Someone asked me what the Lord might be doing concerning the millions who are entering our country illegally. I said I don’t know what God is doing, but I do know what the Church ought to be doing! The Church ought to be praying that God would send laborers into this huge and growing harvest field. Our cities are exploding with people speaking dozens of languages. God is bringing the mission field to the United States! May we be obedient to our commission!

Pray for one another.
