Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family: Psalm 19:14 “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.” This was the last verse of the psalm Curt preached from at men’s retreat on Friday evening. It has haunted me ever since. Its a familiar verse – one many of us have learned and heard often. But, oh the sorrow it has brought me this week. Are all my thoughts and all my words acceptable to God? And what happens when they are not?
I rejoice to tell you that over $5,800. was received for the Dick Winkler Memorial this week. Our total in that fund is now just under $15,000. Praise God! Our Men’s Meeting on Sunday will be tasked to determine where we go from here on the south wall project. We have received 3 bids. Pray for wisdom and grace as we work together on this project.
On a couple of other projects: I hope to have a price to complete the sidewalk project by the east doors at Sunday’s Men’s Meeting. The Building/Grounds Committee has approved an estimate for about $1,000 to have a plumber do two projects in the church basement. One is to repair a leak in our water main. The second is to replace our meter with one slightly smaller. Downsizing our meter will save the church $500 per year. Changing the meter will pay for itself in one year.
There is a lot of activity in the building as we get ready for school. We may be adding two more students to our high school. Last spring we thought we might have just 6 in junior and senior high. It looks now like we will have 12. That’s great for our school and a lot of work for Pastor Shaeffer!
Patty Fitch will begin treatments on Thursday. Pray for strength and God’s protection. Continue to pray for a miracle of healing for Mark Shaeffer and Sarah Prigge. Pray for God’s care upon the elderly in our church. Pray for salvation of our friends. Pray that we as a church might build relationships for the purpose of talking about the Theme of Themes – the gospel of Jesus.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
