Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, I was in Exodus 24 in high school Bible this morning. It’s the repeat of the establishment of God’s covenant with Israel. God calls 74 men – Moses and 73 others to come to Him in the mount. The other 3,000,000 Israelites got to see the glory of the LORD as a consuming fire on the mountain. Young men were chosen to make sacrifices. The 73 were able to see God. Only Moses was called into the cloud and was with God for 40 days and nights. I told the teens today that not everyone gets to see God. Some are called to the mount. I asked them if they wanted to have a close relationship with God. Have I prayed? Have I waited days for an answer? Have I listened to God’s Word?
Lisa S tells me that her dad (Jim) is not doing well. Her brother and nephew are coming to see him. She asks that we pray that they might get to see Jim before he passes. Pray for Jean, Lisa, and the rest of Jim’s family.
This Lord’s Day I am going to talk about “Submission in the Home.” Charlie continues his study in Corinthians in Sunday School. He will be in chapter 11. It talks about submission and Lord’s Table. Pastor Shaeffer continues his walk through Luke on Sunday evening.
We had another great night of Awana last night. It was Awana store night so there were a lot of excited clubbers. Next Wednesday, November 24th, we will not have Awana or a Bible study at the parsonage. Rather on the evening before Thanksgiving, we will have a Thanksgiving service for the whole family at the church at 7:00 p.m. There will be singing, Scripture reading, and a short sermon.
Plan on decorating the church for Christmas with us on Saturday, November 27th. Bring finger-ready food to share. This is for adults or the whole family – your call. We will begin at 6:00 p.m. Plans have been made, so there will be jobs ready to be done. (Sometimes a short step ladder makes this night go better.) Ask Curt C what song assures him that it is Christmas and ask him to have it there to play. 🙂
Pray for our service men and women and first responders. Pray for the safety of Kenosha. Pray for wisdom for our elected officials. Pray for a revival in your own heart.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
