Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, This morning in our staff devotions I read Psalm 73. This psalm speaks personally to me because I believe it addresses the hearts of faithful ministers. Asaph, David’s choir master for the tabernacle worship, looks around and sees that the wicked are having a great time. He wonders if his service is truly worth it. Then in 73:17 he writes, “Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then I understood their end.” He concludes his mental readjustment in verse 25: “Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You.” This psalm reminds me of the reset button of worship. It also reminds me that life is about God and not what I may observe today. May my thoughts and efforts today be directed to God and eternity.

Tomorrow is our monthly Senior Bible Study. Our topic for study will be the Christian’s relationship to the environment. In today’s political world, this is a timely topic. We meet at Rolling Meadows at noon to order lunch. The study follows our food and fellowship. We are done about 1:30 p.m.

Please remember these health prayer requests that were mentioned at last night’s Men’s Meeting: we praise the Lord that Tony B has responded well to the antibiotics, Charlie L has a friend named Zack G whose father has heart problems, Tim R has Covid and has been on a ventilator for many days (He is a former missionary to Haiti and has a daughter at FCS.), Phil B recently had his gall bladder removed, Carolyn O has very high blood pressure, and Van F’s brother in law (Allen) will have surgery to remove a kidney because of cancer.

Pray for our country. Pray that we as a people might turn our hearts to God and His Word. Pray for the ministries of Trinity Baptist.

I rejoice in being able to be part of the Lord’s Day yesterday. God is good. We had a good Men’s Meeting last night. Business wise we reviewed finances and projects. I would encourage everyone to remember to give to the general fund. I know we have many special offerings, but we cannot forget the regular giving to the general fund of the church. We also had some discussion about our vision and mission at the Men’s Meeting.

Awana Clubbers can look forward to Awana Store this Wednesday night.

Embracing Truth, Pastor
