Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family: Carol Purcell experienced the presence of Jesus and the glory of God in a new way early this morning. Her daughter Debra wrote me to say she passed away peacefully in her sleep. She had a couple good hours where she was able to speak with family – children and grandchildren. Ross is resting at Hospice Home of Hope where Carol was also staying.
I am going to miss Carol. For some reason I was able to tease her as if she was my sister. She had a tender heart but she could give teasing back to me as well as she took it from me. She deeply loved our church. I believe one of Carol’s great sadnesses of the last few years is how seldom she and Ross were able to be with us in church. I rejoice to know more about heaven today. I mourn our loss of a good friend.
Debra said this morning that they would hope to have a celebration of Carol’s life at a later date. Pray for Craig and Debra and their families as they travel and sort things out. Pray for Ross as he makes another huge adjustment in life.
Attached are notes for tomorrow morning’s sermon during our 10:00 a.m. Facebook livestream.
Pray for the Shaeffer family and the adoption of Taven, Soffia, and Kinley. They are scheduled to finalize this on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. Hey, let’s show up in the parking lot on the north side of the City/County Building at about 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday. We could stay by our vehicles until we saw Jeremy and received his thumbs up. Then, we could cheer for the Shaeffer family! Cards and gifts are appropriate.
God is God and we are His people always.
