Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 146:1-2 Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul! 2 While I live I will praise the Lord; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. Do you talk to yourself? Do you ever say, “Self, you need to praise God today.”? I believe spiritually healthy people self-counsel. They talk to themselves about what they ought to be thinking. Believers need to be in the word of God enough that our self-counseling is rooted in God’s Truth. Praise the Lord, O my soul!

I praise the Lord for another week, another day in which to serve the Lord Jesus. I rejoice that I am feeling much stronger than I was a year ago at this time. God has been gracious to me.

Continue to pray for strength and healing for Jean and Patsy. They both report that they are improving, but both would like to see themselves stronger yet.

From our Wednesday evening prayer requests: Pray for the pregnancy of Kayla’s brother’s girlfriend. Also pray for the pregnancy of Paul W’s daughter Savanna – she is due July 2nd. Pray for a friend of the Bergens, Mark, who has had a stroke and cannot speak. Pray for journey mercies for many families in our church. Pray for the salvation of Tom’s mom – Mae. Pray for an opportunity for Kathy to speak the gospel to Nicole. Pray for Joey S as he teaches a back yard Bible school this week. Pray for Levi S and Regan K as they attend basketball camp at Faith in Ankeny this week. Pray for Carolyn’s sister Cindy and Doug H as they work through chemo treatments. Pray for our country and the many primary elections. Pray for the church in Ukraine. Pray for our church – that we might be like Jesus in our love and care for others.

Praise the LORD that over $1,500 was given over the past couple of weeks towards camp scholarships. Because of the generosity of many, families will only have to pay $100 to send a teen to Camp Chetek for a week. This includes food and transportation! What a deal! Pray for a great spiritually growing week June 27-July 2nd.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, our adult Bible study will be on 2 Kings 2 – the fiery chariot ride of Elijah! Join us at 7:00 p.m. for learning and fellowship in prayer. We also have classes for teens and children.

A week from today, Tuesday, June 21st, we will have our monthly Senior Bible Study. Instead of lunch at Rolling Meadows, we will have a potluck picnic at the Deneveu Shelter in Lakeside Park. (Take Scott street east past the A&W. Turn left on Harbor View Dr. and the shelter is on your immediate right.) I will provide drinks, table service, and a main dish. Bring whatever side dish, hors d’oeuvre, or dessert you choose. You are welcome to bring a friend. I will bring a short challenge from God’s Word and we will enjoy a time of fellowship and prayer.

Praise the LORD if you feel like it. And if you do not feel like it, praise the LORD anyhow!

Embracing Truth, Pastor
