Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family: Jeremiah was literally in the pit. His message was unpopular among many in Jerusalem and he had been arrested and put into a slimy pit. Listen to his testimony of that experience: I called on Your name, O Lord, from the lowest pit. You have heard my voice: “Do not hide Your ear from my sighing, from my cry for help.” You drew near on the day I called on You, and said, “Do not fear!” Lamentations 3:55-57 God drew near to Jeremiah when he was in the pit! Are you in a pit? You know what to do.

Christianity calls today Holy Saturday. It’s the day when all Christians agree that Jesus was in the tomb. I heard this morning that the only thing significant that happened on that day was a conversation between the priests and Pilate. Afraid the disciples of Jesus would steal His body, the priests asked for a guard on His tomb. I love Pilate’s answer. “Make it as sure as you can.” We can assume they did. But we also know what happened on Sunday morning!

Are you in the pit or feel like you are buried today? Sunday morning is coming!

Pray for our missionaries and their churches holding services around the world – some beginning as we go to bed tonight. Pray for strength for the sick and hurting. Pray for wisdom for our governmental leaders at all levels. Pray for this virus to be defeated and for our country to heal. Pray for God’s glory to be known in His church. Pray for churches in Fond du Lac that will preach truth tomorrow. Pray for love and wisdom to be known at Trinity Baptist Church.

I’ve attached sermon notes for tomorrow’s 10:00 a.m. service. Amy is going to sing, “See, What a Morning!”

Embracing Truth, Pastor
