Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, My soul was touched by the lives and musicianship of the Maranatha Symphonic Band yesterday. It was a special delight to have our granddaughters sitting with us in the front row and be able to watch their reactions to the sounds they heard. I am sad for those of you attempting to listen on Facebook. I am afraid our sound system was incapable of picking up the spectrum of what was presented. Plainly, our sound system is a needed future financial project.
I was challenged by a thought as I listened to Jeremy last night. My faith is in the person of God and not what He does. His works confirm His character, but my trust is in God Himself.
Van told the Bible study on Wednesday evening that his mom’s husband, Tom, had passed away at the beginning of last week. Pray for his mom, Janet, and Van’s family. We’ve prayed for Tom several times over the last few years. Pray now that Van and his family be strengthened and comforted.
It was announced this morning in school opening that George Huizenga was the winner of the popcorn sales competition. He will receive 4 pieces of pizza and a Big Buddy every Friday for lunch between now and Christmas break. Congratulations, George. Runners up included Zeke Westra, Henley Braker, and Isaac Struska. Beth tells us that TBS will net $500 profit from this Faris Popcorn sale. Stay tuned for an announcement and promotion of Scrip for the months of December.
Pray for those hurting. Pray for those who serve on our behalf on foreign soils. Pray for peace here and abroad. Pray for COVID to be defeated. Pray for wisdom and safety for our church. Pray for our church leadership. Pray for God’s Word to be powerful among us.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
