Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Proverbs 5:21-23 “For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and He ponders all his paths. His own iniquities entrap the wicked man, and he is caught in the cords of his sin. He shall die for lack of instruction, and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.” Most of Proverbs 5 is a warning to a son about the dangers posed by an immoral woman. She may be very attractive, but she will take your reputation, your money, your health, your self-respect, your joy, and your relationship with God. (This also applies to daughters about immoral men!) The chapter ends by saying that God sees our ways. I especially appreciate the warning “He shall die for lack of instruction.” Fools ignore God’s Word. The ignorant do not listen to preaching.

Tonight is Awana Awards. A cookout buffet begins at 5:30 p.m. in the church basement. All are welcome. Then, awards for the clubbers’ year will be given out in the auditorium at 6:30 p.m. Come celebrate with our leaders and clubbers the good things God has done among us this year.

Summer Bible studies will begin on Wednesday nights at 7:00 p.m. on May 19th. I am teaching the adult study. We will continue my walk through 1 & 2 Samuel. Charlie will be teaching the teens. And those going into 5th grade and under will be taught by Carolyn Olson. Make Wednesday evening Bible study a part of your family’s summer schedule. You will be stronger spiritually and richer in fellowship.

Pray for Kathy as she recovers from her surgery. Darryl M has a shoulder replacement surgery tomorrow. Pray for he and Karrie as Darryl will be off work for many weeks. Pray for Tom G as he recovers from Covid. I had told you that my dad tested positive for Covid. Well, between having both of his vaccine shots and the IV he received, he is doing very well with no noticeable symptoms. Thank you to those who prayed.

Lin and I will be in the Dells the rest of this week. We are humbled and grateful for this gift from Trinity Baptist. We know that we are blessed by God through you. We are looking forward to the break, the time we will spend together, and the GREAT MUSIC we will get to hear! We will attend another church on our way home Sunday morning and be back before the evening service.

Pastor Shaeffer will be preaching in the morning service on what the Bible teaches about mothers. It is also the 2nd week of his “Love Like You Mean It” series during adult Sunday School. There is still room for more in this class. Charlie will be continuing his walk through Genesis both in Sunday School and in the evening service.

Friday, May 7th at 7:00 p.m. at the Braker’s home is Acts 29. This is a young adult Bible study and fellowship time. If you fit the definition of “young adult” you belong at this evening. Seniors in high school are welcome.

Pray that God is not hindered in what He desires to do in your life. Choose life with obedience. Pray that God is not hindered in what He desires to do in the life of our church. May Jesus be glorified.

Embracing Truth, Pastor
