Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 115:1-2 Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but to Your name give glory, because of Your mercy, because of Your truth. 2 Why should the Gentiles say, “So where is their God?” Early this morning I was challenged by this thought. What occupies my mind more than anything or anyone else? With whom or what am I in love? What just keeps returning to the front of my mind? I’ve been challenged by this idea in the past. Every Christian has.
Today’s technological world bombards us on so many fronts with so many conflicting thoughts. Solomon tells us we are chasing the wind. So upon who or what is your mind dwelling? Are you consumed with self – your convenience and your truth? Or are you consumed with Jesus who is the Truth?
If you get this early enough today, pray for Dennis Groll and his surgery at 1:00 p.m. Also pray for the Shaeffer family and Lin’s sister Beth as they are traveling today. Pray for Jesus to be glorified in us.
Wednesday evening is Awana Grand Prix in the parking lot. (“God, we would appreciate some help with the weather.”) Popcorn is free. Water and cookies are 50 cents. Weigh in begins at 6:00 p.m. (Not me, the cars.) Races begin at 6:30 p.m. Bring your own lawn chairs. Come for the fun and fellowship.
I deeply appreciated the fellowship and preaching of the Vawters on Sunday. Wayne is our preacher in teen/adult Sunday School and the morning service again this week. Our Annual meeting is at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
