Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Remission. It’s a sweet word. It means I am done with treatment for now. The lymph node with cancer has shrunk to less than half the size it was in early fall. I have appointments for another scan and blood work in 3 months.
As I drove home from the cancer center today I thought about the uncertainty of the word remission. I quickly thought that forgiven is a much better word. Remission means the doctor has no known cancer to treat at this time. Forgiven means that God has removed from my records all evidence of sin forever. My larger joy is found in what God has done. Praise Him with me.
John Goodacre called to tell me that his wife’s grandmother, Marilyn Granat, passed away in December. Since she was a former member here, he thought it would be appropriate for our church family to know.
Continue to pray for protection for our church especially from the on-going COVID illnesses. The Hortons tested positive on Tuesday. They did not attend on Sunday because they were not feeling well. I commend those who are watchful and stay away when they are not well. I spoke with a member of the community today who was very frustrated that her church has yet to have a service of any kind since March. I praise God that we have been able to worship and edify one another. Be careful. Be respectful. And continue to trust God.
Missionary Jonathan Laase will present his ministry in Sunday School and preach in the evening service on Sunday. He will greet us and we will take an offering for them in the morning service. We will be looking at a part 2 of False Teachers from 2 Peter 2 in the morning service. We have a Ministry Committee meeting at 5:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon: Tony, David, Curt, Dale, Darryl, Tim, Jeremy, and Charlie.
Pray for our leaders – both church and government. Pray for God’s Word to be above all else in our thinking. Rejoice in the many graces of God.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
