Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Ever want to have a “sit down” with God? You’d ask Him questions that would begin with “why.” Like “Why do bad things happen to good people?” Or “Why is there no justice in the world?” Know this, you are not alone. In fact many in the Bible asked God the same questions. Listen to Jeremiah. Jeremiah 12:1-2 “Righteous are You, O Lord, when I plead with You; Yet let me talk with You about Your judgments. Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why are those happy who deal so treacherously? 2 You have planted them, yes, they have taken root; They grow, yes, they bear fruit. You are near in their mouth but far from their mind.” Want to know how God answers Jeremiah? Jeremiah 12:5 “If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you, Then how can you contend with horses?” In other words, “Jeremiah, the answers to your questions are WAY above your pay grade.” Ultimately we have to be content with Jeremiah’s start to this conversation: “Righteous are You, O Lord.”
Kathy R reports that a recent MRI shows “all clear.” She asks prayer for a friend named Susie who has a cancer that is progressing in spite of treatment.
Thank you to those who bought soup and those who prayed for a good day. We could not have had better weather for the 2nd of February. We made lots of soup and sold the majority of it. We had “walk ins” because of our sign. One bought soup because they had enjoyed the apple pies in the fall. This was a successful fundraiser and a good outreach into the community. There will be frozen soup of some varieties available on Sunday. If you ordered soup and have not picked it up, please do so on Sunday!
Pray for those who are hurting. Pray for God’s protection upon our Congregation and its leadership. Thank God for His goodness to us.
