Doug & Cheryl Boisvert, June 2012
Our ways are not God’s ways and certainly our plans are not His plans! However, we also can not use that as an excuse for our own blunders. This past trip, I was scheduled for three Sudanese teaching sites in June and after 5 months of planning and communicating details, we thought all was set. However, upon arrival in Uganda, in route to South Sudan, I find out that one venue has not responded to the Sudanese coordinator after all and the others are gathering a week earlier than scheduled for the teaching. After much phone work and a very patient Missionary Aviation Fellowship – MAF office (our flight in and out of South Sudan), I was able to get a new flight to the second venue where the men were gathered to teach alone both courses that were schedule for a week later when Jackson could join me. Teaching was fine but this also left me a full week alone and uncertain of new area while waiting for the third module.
God did not change our plans, but others did. HOWEVER, our God is the Almighty All-knowing God that was not caught unawares. He directed me each step of the way and it ended up a very successful trip of teaching and laying good ground work for the Sudanese to establish their own training program with Tri-M Africa assistance! Also I was able by God’s gracious Hand to accomplish in 7 days what usually was needing 14+ days.
So I am back in the USA early and God even arranged to have United representative that Cheryl was working with stateside, to wave the change fee on my ticket unsolicited!
Do pray for our Ugandan partner Professor Jackson as he will be teaching in Yambio South Sudan 19-26 June the next two courses. That was part of our juggling we did to make all the changes in this mix up with our Sudanese organizers.
So thank you for praying with us and we can say that God was and is at work even in spite of plans ruined due to others mistakes. Praise His name and again thank you for joining us in prayer for this and future modules
