Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 37:1-8 “Do not fret because of evildoers, nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. 2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. 3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. 4 Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. 6 He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. 7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. 8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret—it only causes harm.”
Three times in these verses I find the phrase “do not fret.” Twice I find “trust” and once I find “rest.” We cannot trust while we fret and we will not fret when we trust and rest.
Kathy R expects the surgery on her back to be in early October. It’s the earliest the surgeon can get her in. Carolyn O was going to see a doctor about what is next in her treatment. Holly V is doing better than expected in her recovery from GBS. We have seen a video of her walking with help! Van’s radiation treatments continue. Pray for one another.
This Sunday we have a fairy normal Sunday morning. I am going to take a one week departure from Mark to look at 1 Peter 5:7. Our two adult Sunday School classes are meeting. We are NOT going to have an evening service this coming Sunday. The pastors are all going to be on the other side of the state for the Wisconsin Fellowship of Baptist Churches annual meeting.
Plan now to join the church family for a time of fun at the Carter Cider Pressing and Chili dump on Saturday, September 23rd. Bring apples (if you would like cider), chili to add to the pot, and your favorite dessert or chili side dish. The day begins at noon.
