Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, For our staff devotions this morning, Sarah read the second half of 1 Corinthians 1. Paul tells us that God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty. Two thoughts for believers. One, God chose us. We are not part of God’s family by accident or by our own choosing. The Creator God has chosen us! Second, we were not chosen based upon our superiority. Often it is insignificant, common folk that God uses greatly in His work. He does this so that He alone gets the glory. Praise God that He choses to use the foolish and weak – that’s me!
The Domstads have asked for prayer today as they are heading to Thailand’s immigration tomorrow – our tonight. Pray for favorable action from that government.
Three of our TBS high school are traveling to TN for soccer nationals today. Pray for their safety as they travel and play tomorrow and Saturday. They will return home on Sunday. Dale S is a driver for this.
Pastor Shaeffer will be working the WACS tournaments in Watertown on Friday and Saturday. Pray for strength and wisdom for him. He will be preaching to about 250 teens on Friday evening.
Kathy R tells us she is recovering from surgery and doing therapy at home. She has met with an oncologist and they are planning radiation on her lungs even as she is healing from surgery. Chemo will likely follow. Pray these actions might stop the growth or eliminate the tumors in her lungs.
Ron H is home and recovering from sepsis and congestive heart failure.
Missionary Jodi Harrison to Spain will be with us in teen/adult Sunday School this Lord’s Day as well as after lunch. Sunday is Church Dinner Day! Bring food and come for the fellowship and learning about Jodi’s ministry in Spain.
I praise God for the many good things that are happening in this ministry. May God make us effective ministers as we attempt to serve for the glory of Jesus.
