Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family,
Matthew 1:21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” The name Jesus is the Greek form of the Hebrew name Joshua which means Savior. His name is Jesus and He is our Savior.
We will come together tomorrow evening, Christmas Eve, at 6:00 p.m. to worship in praise and edification Jesus our Savior. Once again we will conclude the service by making a circle of candles. Invite a friend and come expecting a special evening.
I am still excited this morning about the great missionary presentation we heard last evening. Missionary Jonathan Laase to France shared the work accomplished during their first term, the last 3 years. He spoke of Priscilla’s learning of French, discipleship of many, souls won, and over 40,000 gospel contacts that we made during the Olympics in Paris. He thanked us for our Awana Pie offering gift and told us of their plans to start a new church in a city about an hour and a half from where they had been working with his parents. I praise God that Trinity Baptist Church has a part in this ministry.
Pray for our missionaries to Mozambique, Junior and Abigail Taylor. They have come home for Christmas because of the large amount of political unrest in that African country. When I received their letter, I went online and checked out news reports from Mozambique. Various groups are contending the recent election. One news agency said over 130 people have been killed during protests and 4,000 arrested. The violence may escalate after the Constitutional Council verifies the elections today, December 23rd. Pray for the safety of the Christians and the churches in Maputo. Because the port has been shut down, economic hardship is bound to follow. The Taylors are hoping things settle down and they are able to return after mid-January. Pray for wisdom and safety for the Taylors.
I hope you get to spend some needed time with family and friends during this Christmas season. Be patient with one another. Enjoy the present moments.
Embracing Truth. Equipping Saints.
