Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family,
Psalm 135: 5-7 “For I know that the Lord is great, and our Lord is above all gods. 6 Whatever the Lord pleases He does, in heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deep places. 7 He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; He makes lightning for the rain; He brings the wind out of His treasuries.”
Pray for those traveling today. Jean W is driving with her daughter Pam to Arizona overt the next few days. The Jeremy and Amber and family are traveling to Ohio for the weekend to see family.
Pray for those who are struggling with a cold or flu.
Pray for the Taylors, our missionaries to Mozambique. They will need wisdom to know when to return to Maputo. I read on the news that there has been a prison riot resulting in 1,500 maximum security prisoners escaping. Although the political protests have calmed down, the city is still very uneasy.
Pray for the Afghani refugees in the “stans.” Our missionary Tim recently shared the story of a lady who did not know where her family was and feared for her life. I heard in the news that Russian air defenses downed an Azerbaijan Airlines plane that crashed in Kazakhstan, killing 38 people. This too makes me pray for the Christians and churches in that region. May they not fear and find their rest in their salvation in Jesus.
Continue to pray for the church in other troubles places; Ukraine, Gaza, Israel, Samolia, and Iran – to name a few. May these dear brothers and sisters in Christ know that their salvation is in Jesus. May they be bold in situations too horrible for me to comprehend. Maybe I am just more aware of it, but it seems like persecution of Christians is increasing throughout the world.
During Sunday School for adults and teens, I will be leading a brush-up on our sexual abuse policy. In the morning service I will be preaching from Luke 2 – the story after the birth of Jesus. After church dinner, I will bring a devotional thought from Hosea.
Sunday is Church Dinner Day! Bring a dish to share with enough for your family and a little more.
On Tuesday, December 31st, we will begin a pot-luck meal at 6:00 p.m. The evening is set aside for food, games, and fellowship. Last year we resumed Pastordy. Did the ladies win last year? Pastordy will be at 7:00 p.m. We will have a separate of questions for those 10 and under.
How, when, and where will you read your Bible in 2025?
Embracing Truth. Equipping Saints.
