Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 61:1-5 “Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer. 2 From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. 3 For You have been a shelter for me, a strong tower from the enemy. 4 I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah 5 For You, O God, have heard my vows; You have given me the heritage of those who fear Your name.” As I read Psalm 61 this morning, I identified strongly with several phrases from these first verses. First, I too sometimes feel like I am at the end of the earth and that my heart is overwhelmed. I too need to find a rock, a place of shelter, that is larger and stronger than me. And I greatly desire the heritage of those who love God. These are healthy feelings and desires for every believer.

Pray for travel mercies today for several of our own. My son Zeke and his family are driving from Wisconsin to their home in Montana today and tomorrow. Hannah S is returning from Mexico. She will have a border crossing and a couple of airport transfers. She gets home tomorrow, so I’m sure this begins today. Amber S will spend some of today in AZ with Annika and then fly back tonight. I believe Jeremy said the pick up time was 1:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. Van and Patty are flying east tomorrow to spend a week in Maine.

Pray for those who are hurting. My Uncle Dave is having his 4th chemo day today. He has these once a week. Continue to pray for healing and strength for Jean and Patsy. Kathy was praising the LORD on Wednesday evening that her CT scan was clear. Dave R has an MRI on his shoulder coming up. Our former Pastor’s wife, Christa M, will have a baby this coming week. Lisa S asks for wisdom and strength for her job – she is going to half time – and also for care of her mom. Kayla is praising God for the safe arrival of her brother’s baby.

TBS begins a new year on Monday! Much work has been done and we are anticipating a great year. We are working on marketing a new slogan: “Educational Excellence. Timeless Truth.” Pray that these goals be accomplished – that we might be superior in our teaching and tenacious is passing on the truth we have received. Pray for quick adjustments for the 3 families that are new to TBS this year.

Sunday’s schedule is pretty normal. Darryl continues The Drama of Job in adult Sunday School and I will continue to describe the events of the 2nd half of the Tribulation from the book of Revelation. Jeremy is our preacher on Sunday evening from the book of Luke.

A week from Sunday is our annual end of summer picnic. It will be held at the Mohr’s home. I am told there will be a roasted pig and roasted corn. Plan your side dishes accordingly and bring a little cash to help offset those costs. Dinner will begin at 12:30 p.m. There are sign up sheets on the MOT for picnic day competitions. Bring lawn chairs. Table service will be provided.

I hope you are enjoying these beautiful end of summer days. I am trying to soak up many memories of warmth and sunshine! God is good.

Embracing Truth, Pastor
