Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 134 “Behold, bless the Lord, All you servants of the Lord, who by night stand in the house of the Lord! 2 Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord. 3 The Lord who made heaven and earth bless you from Zion!” This psalm is addressed to the Levites who served during the night hours. They kept the lamps lit, the fire on the altar burning, and provided security for the temple. I imagine a great camaraderie existed among those with these duties. The psalmist exhorts them to bless the Lord, but then finishes the psalm by asking God to bless them. It is easy to get bogged down with the tedious parts of serving God. When surrounded by seemingly menial service, I get my eyes off Jesus and onto myself. The psalmist not only encourages praise during the menial tasks, but also blesses those who complete those tasks. What little thing must I do today? How might I bless the Lord and be blessed while I do it?

This Sunday we kick off a new adult Sunday School class. A New Member’s class taught by Pastor Shaeffer will be available to those who signed up and any others who might be interested. This will run through the fall trimester – September through December. If you want to learn about Trinity Baptist and how you can be a better part of what is going on, this class is for you!

For those not taking advantage of the New Members class, we will continue our Attributes of God series in the auditorium. When that class ends mid-November, Pastor is going to complete his walk through the book of Acts.

Sunday is Promotion Sunday. During Sunday School opening, we will take a few minutes to recognize the age and grade changes that move our young people through our Sunday School classes. This is a good time for us all to learn who is teaching whom!

Charlie and Brittany are moving on Saturday. If you would like to help, they will be loading a truck at their apartment at 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning. They are hoping to be loaded and unloaded by noon.

I spoke with Carolyn O on the phone today. Continue to pray for strength and healing for her. Pray for wisdom as they attempt to discern why she is sore and weak and what the best solutions are.

We have Lord’s Table this Sunday morning. I am back in 1 Timothy 1 considering the grace of God to serve.

Spend some time with family this Labor Day weekend. Know that we are blessed. Ask God to work in your home and in our country.

Embracing Truth. Equipping Saints. Pastor
